What Is The Potential System

With the release of brand new Agents that shakes up the game’s meta like Ye Shunguang and Zhao, Zenless Zone Zero developers have created a way to allow older Agents in the game to get a decent boost in power to keep up with some of the other Agents in terms of usability and meta-relavancy in the form of the special Potential System.

The Potential System serves essentially as an additional Upgrade system for certain Agents in the game in a similar form to the Cinema system, where players can gain special Agents specific currencies to spend and unlock 6 different tiers of Potential, unlocking additional effects and abilities for the Agent’s skill kit. The higher the Potential Tier, the more potent the new effects will be for the Agents.

Zenless Zone Zero Potential

For Version update version 2.6, 2 Agents will be receiving their Potential effects: the S Rank Electric Attack Specialty Agent Harumasa and the S Rank Ice Stun Specialty Agent Von Lycaon

How To Obtain Potential Upgrading Materials

To unlock each tier of the Potential system for the Agents, players will need to spend 1000 Daily Performances, for a total of 6000 Daily Performances for all 6 Potential stages, which can be obtained from various sources by playing through the game:

– The usual and most effective way to obtain Daily Performances is through the Outpost shop, where players can spend currencies gained from Shiyu Defenses and Weekly Bosses challenges. A total of 2000 Daily Performances can be obtained through this every month.

Zenless Zone Zero Daily Performance

– Another way to gain Daily Performances consistently is through the weekly rewards, where players will need to complete specific weekly missions to obtain weekly points and obtain rewards when reaching a certain point threshold. 1000 Daily Performances can be obtained through this method every week.

Zenless Zone Zero Weekly Missions

– The final way to obtain Daily Performances is through the Potential Try Out missions, where players will be able to try out the different Agents with their Potential active and gain 500 Daily Performances for each stage cleared. These rewards are one time only.

As mentioned, for Zenless Zone Zero version 2.6 update, 2 different Agents will get their new Potential effects to enhance their skill kit.

Therefore, we will analyze the Potential of these Agents and see how impactful these Potential changes will affect the overall damage output and meta-relavancy for these Agents. Please note that this information is leaked information from a trusted source and can be greatly altered when the final version comes out, so players should take this information with a grain of salt.

Harumasa

Zenless Zone Zero Harumasa Potential Buffs
Potential Level 1:
New Basic AttackBasic Attack: Ha-Oto no Ya
When the 5th hit of Basic Attack: Cloud Piercer/EX Special Attack/Chain Attack hits an enemy or the ground, it can generate 2/6/6 Electro Quivers. If there are no Electro Quivers on the field when any squad member applies an Attribute Anomaly to an enemy, generate 6 Electro Quivers. This effect can trigger once every 12s.There can be up to 6 Electro Quivers present at a time. If there are any Electro Quivers present when Harumasa fires and hits enemies with Falling Feather, the Electro Quivers will activate and fire Ha-Oto no Ya at the enemies hit by Falling Feather, dealing Electric DMG.

Ha-Oto no Ya will apply Electro Prison to enemies hit, stacking up to 8 times and lasting 10s, repeated triggers reset the duration. While a target has at least 2 stacks of Electro Prison, they will be X-Marked.
New EX Special AttackEX Special Attack: Nowhere to Run – Patrol
With enough energy, press EX Special Attack after using the 4th/5th attack of Basic Attack: Cloud Piercer, Dash Attack: Hiten no Tsuru – Slash, an Ultimate, Dodge Counter: Hidden Edge, or Quick Assist: Braced Bow to activate:

Fire enhanced arrows forward in rapid succession, dealing massive Electric DMG.When the first enhanced arrow hits an enemy or the ground, 6 Electro Quivers are generated. When the final enhanced arrow hits an enemy, it activates the Electro Quivers on the field, firing Ha-Oto no Ya at the target, dealing Electric DMG.When the target’s Electro Prison stacks are close to the maximum, fewer Electro Quivers will be activated.

Character is invulnerable while using this skill.
Enhanced Dodge & Dash AttackDash Attack: Hiten no Tsuru – Slash
While there are X-Marked enemies on the field, Harumasa will enter the Awakened state, switching Dash Attack: Hiten no Tsuru for Dash Attack: Hiten no Tsuru – Slash.

During Assist Follow-Up: Vengeful Counterattack – Glacial Waltz, it triggers the Quick Assist of the previous character in the squad. During the skill, when other squad members enter the field via the Quick Assist, Lycaon enters the Encircle Prey state for 8s, up to once. When an Elite or Boss enemy is Stunned, he gains one chance to enter the Encircle Prey state. While in the Encircle Prey state, if Lycaon is the currently active character, Encircle Prey’s duration does not go down.

While in the Encircle Prey state, Lycaon performs Dodges, Dash Attacks, or Dodge Counters based on the currently active character’s actions. Buff Analysis

With their new buffs, both Harumasa and Von Lycaon have received amazing improvements in their overall usability, with both of their buffs massively improving how they operator on the battlefield:

– Harumasa’s buffs focuses on buffing his overall damage output by improving his numbers while also massively improve his gameplay, allowing players to use his EX Special Attack to instantly generate Electro Quivers for him to combo into his Dash attack, reducing the need to use his very delayed Hold Basic Attack to mark the enemies. Additionally, he also gain an additional instance of electric damage whenever he uses his Ultimate, helping to elevate this damage output further.

– Von Lycaon’s buff is a very significant one as it grants him the ability to act even when he is switched off field. When in this new state, instead of completely being switched off field, Lycaon will remain on field and attack the enemies alongside the on field character, inflicting damage and daze on enemies to help stun the enemies quickly. This makes it so that he can provide amazing utility to the team without having to take field time for himself. Additionally he also gain special Quick Assist ability, further reducing his on field time and allow the main DPS to do even more damage.

With that, we have gone over the leaked details for the upcoming buffs for Harumasa and Von Lycaon. If you intend to roll for these characters in the future, don’t hesitate to take advantage of Enjoygm’s special discounted offers for Zenless Zone Zero Top Up and prepare some funds in advance now!
